VETERAN’S PLAZA DEDICATION

With the help of many people, the former Walton Reporter site was transposed into a beautiful green space area.  On June 17, 2017 the Town of Walton dedicated this area to our veterans. Supervisor Gregory stated, let this plaza be a constant reminder of those who are serving our nation and our community, day and night, often far from home, in peace time and in war time.

Ten Years of Building Resiliency

On Saturday, July 23, 2016, the Walton Flood Commission and Flood Plain Manager Stephen Dutcher held an event at Veterans Plaza (formerly Walton Reporter Building).  The day was spent informing the public of the progress that has been made through flood mitigation work since the flood of 2006 and displays were available to show future work that will be done.  Many enjoyed music by Coyote Junction, good food, and watching the local 4-H groups plant new shrubs and trees (Thank you!).
